Great Falls Public Schools

Great Falls Public Schools is the second-largest school district in Montana, serving more than 10,000 students in grades TK–12 with the support of over 700 highly trained educators. Students are served through the Early Learning Family Center, 15 elementary schools, two middle schools, two traditional high schools, and an alternative high school. The district also works closely with military students and families as they transition to and from Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Electro Controls has had the privilege of partnering with Great Falls Public Schools since 2019. Our first project with the district was the renovation of Great Falls High School, completed in two phases. This project included providing controls for air handling units, makeup air units, cabinet unit heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, VAV systems, boilers, pumps, and the chiller. During Phase 2, a new JACE was installed, giving district staff the ability to monitor and manage building systems through an intuitive user interface.

Since then, Electro Controls has continued to support additional schools throughout the district, including Longfellow Elementary School, East Middle School, Whittier Elementary School, Valley View Elementary School, and Loy Elementary School, where we have provided and installed temperature control systems. In 2022, Electro Controls also implemented a web supervisor platform for GFPS, integrating each school into one centralized system for streamlined monitoring and control.

We sincerely appreciate our strong working relationship with Great Falls Public Schools and the trust they have placed in our team. It has been an honor to help support their facilities and contribute to comfortable, efficient learning environments for students, educators, and staff across the district.

Great Falls High School

Located in Great Falls, MT, Great Falls High School was the city’s first high school, established in 1890. The original building was constructed in 1896 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The current building, which houses Electro’s controls, was constructed in 1930 and has since been annexed to include a two-story industrial arts building and a Hub building which consists of CTE and STEM classrooms.

Electro Controls installed nearly 200 Delta controllers on a 90,000 CFM fan wall air handler, VAVs, separate air handlers in the auditorium and the gymnasium, hot water system, and chilled water system. Electro then integrated the Daikin unit vents and Big Ass Fans. All these systems were integrated to the Tridium front end so facilities could have a graphical user interface.
