HVAC Service & Controls Technician (Bozeman, MT and Missoula, MT)
Responsible for installing, modifying, trouble diagnosing, testing, repairing, calibrating and operating a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment and apparatus used in heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Characteristic Duties/Tasks/Skills:
  • Install, modify, diagnose, test, repair, calibrate and operate a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment in heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigerating systems.
  • Install mechanical pneumatic, electrical, and electronic temperature and humidity controls for heating and ventilation systems.
  • Respond to resolve client complaints regarding heating, cooling, ventilation, and other environmental systems.
  • Trouble shoot and repair central supervisory control system components.
  • Overhaul, repair, and calibrate large pneumatic, electric, and electro-pneumatic computerized control valves.
  • Perform work as part of a preventative maintenance program
  • Use tools such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, hand drills, soldering guns, small hand tools and specialized apparatus.
  • Maintain and update mechanical and electrical system schematics.
  • Perform air- and water- balancing of building control systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability in fine-tuning/startup skills, design skills, and trouble shooting.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to deal with tenants, contractors, co-workers.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed and to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary.
Experience Requirements:
  • HVAC schooling preferred.
  • 2 yrs experience (construction or maintenance) as HVAC technician.
  • 2 yrs experience in DDC commissioning, programming, graphics design.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints related to HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret control drawings.
